Ne waza, Planning a new curriculum of ground techniques and grade requirements

It was decided and agreed that black belts in Ninjutsu should reach the level of blue belts in BJJ. To meet this criterion two rational should be in perspective even if they may oppose:

  1. The techniques decided upon should be efficient under sparring and fighting positions of no rules.
  2. The introduction of no rules fighting sometimes sacrifices technique, this should be taken care of by setting a learning curriculum that will develop the abilities and movements needed. This way, when a practitioner has a good base of movement and position he/she can use the Ninjutsu ground syllabus in the best way.

The following guidelines were temporarily decided:

  1. All the positions should be learned up to the level of a yellow belt.
  2. Randori in black belt should be a criterion. An aspiring black belt should be able to face a black belt from other systems using the Ninjutsu strategies of dealing with handicapped abilities.
  3. A few drills will be mandatory at the level of orange belt-
    • King of the hill (Passing an open guard) - with or without hands.
  1. Juji Gatame from having your opponent in your guard, should be learned at the level of yellow belts.
  2. A collection of drills should not only be learned but shown at the grade exams:
    1. King of the hill - Passing an open guard.
    2. Moving from Position to position.
    3. More drills can be located and shared
