Kata Nami no kata, Chuden Gata level, Kukishin Ryu

Katanami (方波), (One direction wave), (קטה נמי, קאטה, רובד צ'ודן גטה, קוקישין ריו), is a Kata. This form is part of the Kukishin ryu Dakentaijutsu (九鬼神流打拳体術) koryu, belonging to the Chuden gata level.

Katanami is part of the syllabus of the Takamatsu den schools of Ninjutsu: Bujinkan, Jinenkan, AKBAN.

Description of Kata Nami no kata - Kukishinden Ryu

Tori in Shizen tai stance, uke in seigan stance. Uke attacks with right tsuki, right push kick and right tsuki.

Tori blocks with a left uchi jodan yuke, escapes to his right with tai sabaki while blocking uke's push kick with a right fudo ken and blocks the second tsuki with a left uchi jodan yuke.

Tori then grabs uke's right wrist with his left hand and uke's neck with his right hand and performs harai goshi kukishin on uke's right leg.
