Te hodoki, hand release - Ninjutsu

Te hodoki (טה הודוקי) is the collective name for all the hand release techniques in Ninjutsu. These are aimed to free the hands from the opponent's grip in various Levels of violence. It is used in the syllabus of AKBAN.

Description of Uchi mawashi dori - Single hand te hodoki

Uke releases his hand by opening the fingers and simultaneously directing his elbow toward Tori's elbow creating pressure on Tori's hand. All this happens together with moving forward with the same sided leg. Uke finishes with a punch to Tori's face with the other hand at the same time as Uke turns.


Description of Shita mawashi dori - Double hand release

Uke releases two hands by opening the fingers of both of them, raising his hands so that his palms will be parallel and vertical. Uke then pushes his elbows towars tori's elbows creating a pressure on the holding hands. this is done at the same time he approaches Tori with his leg. The other leg pushing and stabilizing him.
