Tai jutsu

Tai jutsu (体術), (body technique), is a term that can be understood on two levels:

  1. The collective name for all the skills (Jutsu) of the body in martial arts, especially in Ninjutsu. Namely: rolling, hitting, kicking, etc. These skills, when done with the use of body only, are called Tai jutsu.
  2. The evolved name of the Bujin kan's martial art formerly known as Ninjutsu. This name: "Budo Taijutsu" has probably symbolized a certain distancing from the focus on Ninjutsu skills. The name change to Taijutsu has also been asociated with safer and easier training in Bujinkan.
