Martial arts

Martial arts (אומנויות לחימה) are transmittable knowledge systems of physical practice based on movements that might appear in fighting. Martial arts differ from Combat sports and Martial systems by the addition of more reasons and insights to the defensive and utilitarian rolls of fighting and competing.

Martial arts are influenced by religious and philosophical ideas and systems: Stoicism, Code of Chivalry, Zen Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism and Shugendo are relevant examples. Martial arts are practiced for many reasons but for most, the chief incentive at the beginning years of practice is overcoming an opponent in confrontation or self-defense. The exact way the martial arts depicts the movements and the methods used to learn them vary greatly and might appear as dance like movements or sparring and competing.
