For the Bourgeoisie are always ready to lead a peaceful life, quietly doing their own business; this is their manner of behaving with all men at home, and they are equally ready to find some way of keeping the peace with foreign States.
And on account of this fondness of theirs for tranquility, which is often not in place, they slowly loose their fighting abilities, and bring up their children to be like themselves; they are at the mercy of their enemies; and then, in a few years they and their children and the whole state often pass inconspicuously from the condition of free citizens into that of slaves.
YOUNG SOCRATES: What a cruel fate!
STRANGER: And now think of what happens with the overly courageous people. Are they not always encouraging their country to go to war, owing to their excessive love of the military arts? they raise up unnecessary many and mighty enemies against themselves, and either utterly ruin their state or find themselves enslaved to its foes?
As I am preparing for the launch next week of our mobile site and with it our double secret “AKBAN Dojo to database project” (ADoDB) (Thanks Arik Hatuel) I took the time to almost finish documenting Koto ryu kata in English and also on the Hebrew wiki summery.
We still have several kata missing, mainly from the Kaiden Gata (皆伝型) level, but most of it is on site.
Here are this week kata articles:
At the first session we are advancing through simple grappling situations and training with some Ninjutsu throws as counters. At the second session we are continuing with weapon Kata of the long and short stick.
While working together with Keith on our mobile site, I managed to finish the Hekito gata level (with the online help of Z., one of the veterans).
Clicking on the Hekito gata category shows a list of articles, all of them with video that was filmed and edited in our facility, all of them linked to the Hebrew הקיטו גטה.
