Toyama-ryū (戸山流) was created by the Japanese Army in 1925 as a iai system.
Reason for the creation of Toyama-ryū
as the Japanese officers were issued new swords and sufficient practice was needed the system was manufactured based on Koryu Batto Jutsu.
Toyama ryu has a strong emphasis on tameshigiri or cutting with a sharp sword.
