Background of the technique
This kick is used when its user is standing far away from his opponent and to either the left/ right of him- out of the range of most kicks. The technique is meant to close the distance between the two quickly while preparing the body to kick as it lands on the ground- achieving both closing the distance and striking the opponent. The Mawashi kick being used in this technique is meant to strike the opponent with the toes and therefore must be very accurate- it is not a power strike though the jump gives it the needed power.
