Heel push kick to the chest - technique description
Although its named "push kick", the kick is not only used to create space between you and your opponent and is a very powerful weapon when used correctly. The kick is designed to hit an opponent that is standing in front of you. The kick can be separated to 2 different parts. The main focus points are to raise the knee to your chest while maintaining the other foot on the ground. In addition the foot of the kicking leg should hit your opponent with its heel. Moving the leg is not enough though, the entire pelvis must move as well and that is where the true source of this kick's power. When done properly the kick is accomplished in one swift motion and upon impact leaves your opponent completely winded. In japan, this technique was originally used against an armored enemy, piercing through the armor.

Heel push kick to the knees
The purpose of this kick is to break the knee of your opponent. In order to do it correctly the knee of the kicking leg must rise to the chest (the same way as the push kick) while the body remains in balance and not does raise the foot of the other leg. The pelvis must move along with the kicking leg, giving it the force required. Note that after the knee (of the kicking leg) has been raised to the chest the leg comes down and does not remain at the same height. This kick has to be extremely accurate and quick in order to break an opponent's knee as an opponent who's anticipated the kick could possibly protect himself against it. The kick is best used when hitting the knee from its side.
