Description of the kata
- The swordsman stands straight (tachi-iai) and is confronted with an opponent that has his drawn sword overhead about to attack (dai-jodan no Kamae).
- The swordsman draws his sword before the anticipated attack and cuts his opponent diagonally from the opponents' right armpit to his left shoulder (kesa giri).
- The swordsman reverses the blade and cuts downward from opponents left shoulder to his right hip.
- The swords man steps back with his sword in ready position (hasso no Kamae) and shakes the blood of the blade (chiburi) while stepping back with his left foot.
- The swordsman sheaths his sword (noto).
