Description of the technique

  1. The first grip: the left hand grabs his right collar pulling slightly to your left. This is a setup for obtaining a deep grip with your right hand, using four fingers inside, on his right collar as close to his neck as possible.
  2. The second grip: the left hand goes underneath your right hand and obtains a deep grip on the opposite collar, again with four fingers inside.
  3. The setup: both hands rotate almost ninety degrees outwards so that the thumbs touch his neck. Open the guard and raise your chest toward his chest, position your head beside his head. The closer you are to your opponent the less he will be able to counter the check.
  4. The choke: is obtained by moving your shoulders and chest in such a way that causes your elbows to move sideways (outwards).
  5. To get a stronger chock, pull a high guard again, and pull him down towards the mat. Now apply the choke while his center of weight is on your chest. This prevents him from creating distance.
