Mondo
From AKBAN-wiki, the Martial Arts Database
A mondo is an exchange of perspectives between teacher and student aimed to reveal to the student the teacher's point of view and lead the student toward more useful insights and action patterns in reality.
The term is used to describe a certain teaching procedure in Zen Buddhism but recent years has seen its proliferation in a host of other fields, martial arts included.
It is a common saying in the AKBAN organization that may have originated by Jigoro Kano, the founder of modern Judo[citation needed]: "Proper training in martial art should include the three pillars Kata, Mondo and Randori.
