Jendo is a Filipino martial art that utilizes empty hand, sticks and bladed weapons as a means of self-defense. Jendo originated in Mandaluyong, a small city located in the central part of Luzon Island of the Philippines. It was founded by Jonathan Makiling in 1973. In 1996,[citation needed]. The art is based on it's founder's concept of Tri-Force or the Tres-Energias (Tatlong-Lakas).
