Note that top's left elbow sits on the floor and prevents bottom from obtaining an underhook with his left arm. This is the basic form of the pass.
In this variation bottom obtains an underhook, so bottom may attempt to sweep. To prevent this top must put weight on bottom's chest. Since bottom must open his legs to sweep, top can use this as a queue to immediately pass guard and block the sweep.
