Background
This Dancelike movement, named Ginga in Portuguese, is pronounced 'jinga'. It conceales many of the Capoeirista intentions and is a platform for landing devastating kicks and attacks. It forms the most important part of Capoeira. This movement puts the capo'eirista in flow from attack to defense. The ginga makes the capoeiristas' movement and timing. The ginga differs slightly according to whether you are playing Abada, Angola or Regional. In Angola the ginga is very free and upto the individual, where as in Regional the movement is much more structured.
