Background of Tai Sabaki

Description of Tai Sabaki

Tutorial - Movement, Tai Sabaki

Movement outside should consider surface irregularities. When evading or attacking an opponent one should use a sensitive stepping method.

The leading leg always steps from above and never trails or slides. The leg that follows can slide. When jumping the legs should land from above, again, never sliding on the surface.

This stepping method applies both to attacking and evasive movements, with or without weapons.
