Background

A short distance high kick with the heel, directed to the chin. The kick is performed very similarly to the push kick and if hits the chin it will knock an opponent to the ground.

Description of the Technique

To perform this kick properly raise the back knee and release the leg at the opponent with the heel impacting on his chin. Note that the true force of the kick comes from the pelvis- which should be sent forward along with the leg. The kick's force makes it quite quick and since it is meant to hit the face and not the torso it is difficult to block.
