Background
This kick is very effective as it hits the opponent from his weak side- and with good timing is extremely difficult to forsee and avoid. The kicke is meant to hit the opponent's face and could very easily knock him to the ground if performed properly. The range of the kick is quite short which adds to its effectiveness as it will be used outside the opponent's field of vision.
Description of the Technique
To perform the kick properly raise the back leg while twisting the pelvis to the other side slightly. Next twist the pelvis back to the side of the kicking leg while whipping it upwards and bending the foot sideways (the toes point upwards). The kick is meant to hit the opponent's face with the upper side of the foot.
