All the current Dojos in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Ramat Hasharon, Reut, Rehovot, Nes ziona, Or Yehuda, Beer Sheba, Upper Galilee and Yahud will start again at the week begining at September the 2nd.
Hebrew details here.

Good Luck!

We are slowly improving the articles in the AKBAN-wiki, our martial arts data-base. This is a long process that demands understanding of the techniques and literary ability.

This article about the Sukui Nage - Scoop throw is a recent example. The article is not complete yet and is ready for a video of the Judo version of the throw.

Mr. G from Tel Aviv Dojo continues to write and add to our knowledge.

While we are toiling and training like crazies in the current high temperature heat wave, here's some decent solution.

No more parking space arguments in Tel Aviv, no one will cut us of, this should be promoted as the best Israeli device for active road safety.

A new article in the English martial arts blog focuses on a touchy subject: fighting and sparring against friends.

In a concise way Mr S. describes the regular atmosphere in the dojo and its contribution to expertize in low levels of violent confrontations.

This is an invitation for every person who ever ran with a back pack.

We are now planning the Ultimate Light Attack Backpack. As you may well know, AKBAN veterans engage in a lot of fittness, running, outdoor climbing, hiking and of course - beating each other.

We treat this matter very professionally and now, since our legendary backpack, the "Modan flash 35 liter" went out of production we are planning to make a back pack that will incorporate our understanding and experience.

After all we were one of the pioneers that ran half marathons and marathons with a 10 kilogram backpacks.

Please feel free to comment below (no registration necessary) on the specification for your ultimate light backpack. Will it have a cellphone pouch? a gun holster? place for a laptop?

We will post it, we will make it, you will use it. Everybody Happy.

With the help of Guy R. and some friends, we finally managed to accurately translate the about section to Japanese.

This website has an automatic translation into many languages, but it often errs. Hopefully, we will finish an accurate translation to Arabic and Russian soon.

Experts from the American College of Sports Medicine recommend an exercise routine that is almost identical to the AKBAN fitness program.
Just take a look at this:
THE NEW ADVICE FOR ADULTS AGED 18-65
30 minutes of moderate exercise on five days of the week
or
20 minutes of vigorous exercise on three days of the week
or
A combination of the moderate and vigorous exercise goals
AND
Two weekly sessions of activity (weight training) to maintain muscle strength

AKBAN's physicians, sport experts and physical therapists came up with the same program years ago, but what made me happy was the ages listed on the recommendation: ADULTS AGED 18-65.

Here's one for the sword guys: Three unfortunate souls happened to snatch a £20 note from Oxford actor Tom Clews.
Mr. Clews, who is playing Greek mythical hero Odysseus, did not hesitate, chased down the bewildered muggers stabbed one of them in the leg and detained them till the police arrived.

Well done Odysseus! Mr. Clews also played Hector in The Iliad in last year's fringe and was bare chested at the event. What were those robbers thinking?

Yep, you're right, this is not madness - THIS IS OXFORD!

New running tables - especially modified for begining runners over 30 and fitness strength routine for adults - were added to the English fitness section in the AKBAN website.

1. Basic strength table - Start from zero fitness and do 55 pushups and 10 pull-ups in 14 weeks. Slow and steady.
2. Strength table after 30 - Start from zero fitness and reach 55 push-ups and 10 chin lifts in 23 weeks. Even slower then our slow rate of advance, but much safer from an orthopedic point of view.
3. Beginners running table - This table starts from scratch and brings you to 40 minutes run in just 20 weeks. Slow but sure.
4. Beginners running table after the age of 35 - this table starts from very low fitness level and brings the adult runner to 45 minutes of run in 40 weeks! The slowest table in the internet, but also the safest and most easy to keep doing for decades.
5. Intermediate running table - This table starts from the ability to run 20 minutes and takes you to the level of running 60 minutes and begining speed runs.
6. Advanced running table - This table starts from the habit of running 45 minutes and takes the runner to the extreme fitness levels of our veterans, running weekly and easily for 100 minutes and running with 9 kilogram (30 pounds) backpack.
7. Always consult a medical doctor before starting any program and have a certified instructor adapt the program for you.

If you're an old hand in Wikipedia, skip this article, but if you're doing the first steps toward martial knowledge - here are few guidelines:

1. The Ninjutsu article, for example, contains few tabs at the top, pressing one of these history, for example, will give you the opportunity to compare versions - the new additions are colored red - each change you make is reversible, just click on the older version and save.

2. Each user contributions are tracked by the system, so Mr. Daniel and Mr. Ariel from Tel Aviv dojo get a lot of respect by watching the quality of their technique analysis.

3. It all starts with creating a free account and having guts. Your martial arts encyclopedia is a long time project and we can all learn by small steps.

Start with small corrections, move on to analyzing videos and writing down the movements, finish by contributing your techniques and insights.

Welcome.

Learning English, aerobic dancing and self defence in Japanese TV

Zuiikin English is a genius Japanese program that combines aerobic dancing and phrase repetition to help memorize new English phrases. The hilarious results are unbelievable, especially when applied to self defense.

Any woman that will use the Zuiikin method of self defense will get plenty of space from a potential attacker. Much better then plain old martial art.

An AKBAN Budo Ninjutsu dojo in Okinawa?

Professor Bergman, an AKBAN veteran, conducted the first ever Budo Ninjutsu training session in computational neurology seminar.

Top Doctors from all over the world got a brief glimpse into martial arts with Karate and Budo Ninjutsu sessions. A welcomed break from the complicated studies conducted in this international seminar.

Prof. Bergman did not skimp and did the famous AKBAN strength routine, Hicho no kata and even some groundwork. I couldn't help myself, I noticed that all the students were smiling in the Budo Ninjutsu lesson, but were very serious doing karate...

At last, a Ninjutsu article in the martial arts encyclopedia

After two thousands years of diaspora and thousand drafts we finally have the incomplete article of Ninjutsu in the AKBAN-wiki, our martial arts encyclopedia.

I think this is just what this organization is about: very frank, careful and open discussion of everything, including the essence and roots of our own practice.

Please pay attention, this is not the article about our own system - Budo Ninjutsu - and of course not the article of current day Budo Taijutsu

So here's my reality check: Mr. Y. stands in front of Mr. I. at the last hour of sparring in the 24 hour training, on top of mount Eithan, moments before the storm hits us.
This is my definition of Budo Ninjutsu!

The combat savvy and experienced community of AKBAN has opened up its videos and knowledge for all martial arts styles, Ninjutsu and Budo Taijutsu included.

Martial arts techniques, hundreds of throws, kicks and punches plus weapon kata are arranged in an easy order, for you to learn and be a better fighter.

Effective and accurate training in martial arts is our goal. Even though we think it is not recommended to learn online exclusively, our immense, free, AKBAN-wiki can add to your practice and give better, more effective skills in self defense and martial arts.

Training in Ninjutsu and other martial arts styles for many years has taught us this secret Ninja lore, we know: "There is no substitute for a qualified teacher and a Dojo." And we know this too: "Only by continually learning, practicing and exchanging we can be better human beings, better warriors."

Use this as a reference to gauge your own performance, or simply take a look at the foundations of a style different from your own.

Care to join and tour with us? You are most welcomed, our friend in martial arts.
